Double change of drivers at Charouz Racing System in view of the Spa – Francorchamps round. The Czech team, in fact, has announced the entry of Hunter Yeany and Zdenek Chovanec in place of Enzo Fittipaldi and Reshad de Gerus.
The Charouz team will thus have two US riders among their ranks as Yeany will join the highly confirmed Logan Sargeant.
Yeany took the F4 USA title in 2020 with 7 wins, one pole and a total of 14 podiums: “I’m really excited to join the Charouz Racing team for the rest of the season. It’s a big leap for me, but it’s also a big opportunity. I am aware that the learning curve in Formula 3 will be tough, but the team has worked very hard to make sure I am prepared ”.
“Racing in Europe has always been my goal and I want to thank everyone who made it possible”.
The other new entry in the Charouz house is Zdenek Chovanec. The driver of Czech origin, who runs with a Portuguese license, can boast experience in both the Italian F4 and the United Arab Emirates one and in the latter category he has hit two podiums.
“I already got to know the team as a guest at the races in Austria and Hungary and I was impressed by the team. I saw how they work and the atmosphere inside the garage is also incredible. They are very professional, but at the same time relaxed ”.
Antonin Charouz wanted to welcome the two new signings of the team: “I am delighted to welcome two new and promising drivers to our team for the 2021 season. So far we have shown that our cars have great potential and I am sure that we will play an excellent second part of the championship ”.
“Of course Spa – Francorchamps is not the ideal place to debut as it is one of the most demanding tracks in the world, but our role is to make sure that the riders can feel comfortable in any situation”.
“I am sure that Zdenek and Hunter will find themselves well in the team and we can then count on Logan’s experience to support our technicians.”
