Taponen’s confirmation
The Finnish player’s growth path continues Tuukka Taponena 17-year-old who has been part of the team for almost two years now Ferrari Driver Academy. Having won this year’s title in the Formula Regional Middle East, as well as replacing Nikola Tsolov in the Belgian Formula 3 Grand Prix, Taponen will continue his stay in the latter category full-time, still with the team ART Grand Prix.
A family team
While waiting for the French team to name its third and final official driver for next season after the renewal of Laurens van Hoepen, thus completing its line-up, the young Finnish talent is now ready to open a new parenthesis in his career ( in which he also achieved good performances in Italian F4 and Formula Regional), hoping to emulate the successes achieved by one of his compatriots: “I am really excited about the F3 contract with the ART GP team for the 2025 season – declared the 17 year old from the Maranello Academy – they showed interest in me already in the summer, giving me the opportunity to participate in Spa last season. The team immediately impressed me both on and off the track and it felt like I was coming home. ART GP has a long and successful history and I want to be part of it in the future too. ART GP is a familiar team for us Finns. For example, Valtteri Bottas he won the championship with the ART GP team before moving to Formula 1.”
The Ferrari driver who completes the Trident
The Finn will be one of numerous rookies in the next championship. Among these appears another promising pilot such as Rafael Camara, reigning champion of the Formula Regional and that will go to complete the line-up of Trident for 2025, with the Milanese team therefore being the first in 2024 to officially present its trio of drivers after the announcements of Charlie Wurz and Noah Stromsted: “I’m very happy to join Trident, it’s a fantastic team and it’s very nice to be part of it – commented the Brazilian, also a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy – I can’t wait to start working with everyone and see what we can achieve together. Naturally the expectations are high, I think that next year we will definitely aim to fight for the championship. I know that it won’t be easy and that for the moment we still have a lot of work to do because it’s not just a new car but also a new team, so everything will be new for me. Like I said, I can’t wait to start working. I always want to win, but we don’t worry and we do our best. My goal is to be ready for the start of the season, to do a good job with the team and to do my best, always, and to be at the top with Trident.”
