Everything seems to be going wrong this year at Frederik Vesti. The ART Grand Prix driver, indicated on the eve as the favorite for the final victory, is not managing to shine consistently this season and currently occupies the second position in the standings with a delay of 41 points from Dennis Hauger.
The Prema driver, also in his second season in Formula 3, is literally dominating the championship, while Vesti, who wore the colors of the Italian team last year, is struggling to find the continuity that the new format requires.
Even in Hungary for the 2019 Formula Regional champion things did not go well.
In qualifying, in fact, Vesti only closed the session with the seventh fastest time, but the cold shower came in the evening when the stewards decided to penalize the ART Grand Prix rider with 3 penalty positions on the grid.
Vesti was found guilty of having slowed excessively between turns 12 and 14 during the preparation lap, thus damaging the other opponents engaged in the fast lap who were forced to lift their foot.
The penalty of 3 positions will be applied in Race 1 when Vesti, instead of starting from the sixth square thanks to the inverted grid, will have to start from the ninth.
