The starting grid for the 2022 Formula 2 season continues to take shape. After the numerous announcements from the Red Bull nursery that characterized last week, today it is time for Van Amersfoort Racing to unveil the name of the first driver.
Jake Hughes will lead the Dutch team to their debut in the category. The Englishman will have the opportunity to play the entire season after having had the opportunity to drive the Dallara of F2 in some appointments both in 2020, in Sochi, and in 2021 in Monza, once again in Sochi and in the final round of Abu Dhabi.
That Hughes was the top name on the wish list for Van Amersfoort Racing was clear when the Briton ran the end-of-season tests in the Dutch team colors. The great experience of the 1994 class will certainly be fundamental to allow the VAR team to adapt to the new category.
