Ferrari, Vasseur’s optimism
There Ferrari who did so much good in Monte-Carlo, giving Charles Leclerc his first victory at home, is awaiting a very different challenge. It is that of Montreal, a more complete circuit than the one offered by the streets of the Principality and where Saturday’s values can be discussed again during the race.
At the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve the Rossa is called upon to confirm the progress given by the updates introduced at Imola, initially criticized and then applauded, according to that dynamic which too often causes judgments to be influenced by the results. Furthermore, the presence of the curbs could be a further help to the Monegasque and the SF-24: team principal Frederic himself Vasseur he is convinced that victory is a three-way fight between Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren.
Vasseur’s words
“I believe that our approach as a team must not change: we must approach this weekend aware of that we are moving in the right direction both from a technical point of view, both in terms of harmony in the team and as regards the decisions to be made on the track. The work done so far has allowed us to further reduce the gap that separates us from those in command of the two world championship rankings. The values, especially in qualifying, between us, McLaren and Red Bull are extremely close and we know that every little detail can make the difference“, commented the Frenchman to Ferrari channels.
“We leave for Canada on the wave of enthusiasm for Charles’ success in his home race in Monaco, as we did after Carlos’ victory in Australia. The whole team is excited and has prepared fully for this event: the Montreal circuit is quite different from that of the Principality, there are still some slow corners but generally there is much more speed, less need for downforce and more overtaking opportunities“.
