Charles Leclerc’s second place in Baku did not live up to Ferrari’s expectations, as they were keen to start a winning streak after the Monegasque’s success in Monza.
Since the latest package of technical updates on the SF-24 was brought to the Monza track, the Prancing Horse team has made a significant leap in quality, so it is fair for Fred Vasseur to expect a competitive weekend in Singapore too, where the Scuderia returned to success last year with Carlo Sainz…
“The outcome of the last race was not what we had hoped for, which in itself says that our level of competitiveness is very high, especially in the current context of Formula 1, where there is little difference in performance between the top four teams. We want to continue on this path also in Singapore, another very challenging street circuit”.

The Asian track suits the characteristics of the SF-24, but it will be necessary to find better tyre management during the race, given that in Baku Charles suffered a sudden degradation at the end of the race…
“Both of our drivers enjoy racing here, and one of them actually won here last year. We would like to repeat that this weekend by continuing to work well as a team, as we have done in the last few races. The last two Sundays have shown us how important tyre management is, and with the three softest compounds available again, after Monza and Baku, we should have a better understanding of their behaviour, even if every track is different.”

Nobody dares to talk about it, but the ambition would be to put two reds in front of everyone…
“Of course, qualifying is very important here too and we are prepared to tackle it in the best possible way, so I am sure that we will be able to cause problems for our opponents”.
