Haas, the workaholic of F1 testing
There Haas is at the back of the grid, or at least this is the indication obtained from the Bahrain F1 tests and from the words of team principal Ayao Komatsu.
Precisely for this reason, however, the Americans did not stand idly by and took advantage of the three days in Sakhir to learn as much as possible about the behavior of the VF-24 to understand its development potential and resolve those atavistic problems relating to degradation that they took it to last place in the 2023 constructors' standings despite 11 Q3 qualifiers.
At every moment of the tests, in practice, there was a Haas running around, and the result is that Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen put together 441 laps. No team managed to do better, even those that ran a complete program and more race simulations, like Ferrari (second at 416).
Red Bull “chases” at 390, 30 more than Mercedes. Closing the ranking is Williams, who suffered from technical problems on day 1 but then did not force their hand to recover. At Grove they were “satisfied” with 299 laps: the only ones not to have reached 300.
