Sainz, 7th place in Singapore
This time the Singapore GP didn’t smile on Carlos at all Sainz. If in 2023 the Spaniard triumphed, interrupting Red Bull’s magical streak, this season Marina Bay has been much more negative for the #55, between an avoidable crash in qualifying and a comeback in the race that stopped only in seventh place.
Smooth Operator he naturally points the finger at Saturday, and therefore self-criticizes, explaining a weekend that started well and ended with a mediocre result.
Sainz’s words
“Race pace was never our concern going into the weekend. On a single lap with this car there is a very small window to get the tyres working. Yesterday I made a mistake, but we also saw with Charles that the window is really small and at times this year it’s been our weak point in qualifying“, this is his comment on Sky Sports F1.
“We will try to do better in the last six races to start higher up on the grid. What we need to see now is how this car works on more normal tracks like Austin, which has much faster and more combined corners. I don’t want to talk about missed opportunities in the last three races, but we could have taken more points as a team, also because We will be able to arrive in Austin and Mexico with an even stronger car in order to bring home more points“.
