Sauber, together with Williams, remained the only team with zero points in the Constructors’ World Championship. Having resolved the pit stop problems that afflicted the Swiss team for the first six races of the season in Imola, the technical staff directed by James Key is planning a growth of the C44 which, so far, has certainly performed less than expected.
Last week on the first European track Sauber not only brought the new pit stop system, but also introduced a new floor which did not give all the results that the Hinwil aerodynamicists expected and a revised front wing towards the bulkhead lateral.

The Swiss structure is making maximum efforts to get back on top with Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou. The new maximum load rear wing makes its debut in Monte Carlo: it would be a mistake to consider this solution designed only to adapt the C44 to the characteristics of the Principality.
In reality, a new genealogy of rear wing debuts in Monte Carlo: the version we see in Monaco is the one with maximum downforce, but will later also have medium and low downforce variations.
The design is completely new from the main profile with a particularly “fat” leading edge to the mobile flap, but the element that indicates the different direction is given by the support of the aileron which is no longer two pylons, but has been converted to be single-pylon following the line of the majority of the teams.

Among the revised details there is also a different front brake duct designed for the track with the lowest average speed in the world championship.
