In a video released by Mercedes, the newcomer unveiled his new helmet design, which goes black out of respect for Schumacher, who returned to F1 between 2010 and 2012 with the star and wearing his distinctive red helmet. vivo, which stood out in the team’s silver livery.
“It’s quite different in color from what I’ve had previously, I’ve chosen a pretty bold black this season,” says Russell.
“A red helmet on a Mercedes I thought Michael Schumacher did a lot, so I wanted to respect him and go in a different direction.”
“I put the black and red in front of the Crowdstrike side, more details in blue, which I really like and probably adding something that will be seen a little more this year.
“I obviously have my GR63 logo on the side, my number on the top, the Mercedes star on the front. I think it is very cool and very aggressive. I hope you like it and you will see it soon in the W13 at Silverstone.”
