In Austria, the RB18 suffered from excessive tire wear: technical director Pierre Waché rejected the Ferrari-style bottom at Paul Ricard, preferring to take a step back to meet the demands of Verstappen who does not like an understeer car. Only one flow conveyor has been approved outside the Venturi channels and Milton Keynes’ single-seater is once again the fastest on the straight with an aerodynamic configuration that is lighter than the red.
