It was already in the air, but the 2022 GP of Russia has now been definitively cancelled. This let the organization of F1 know. The 1st free practice was to take place September 23 in Sochi and the race on Sunday September 25. There are signs that the Turkish GP is now making its re-entry as a substitute, but nothing is officially known about it yet.
In a statement, F1 said: “The FIA F1 World Championship visits countries around the world with a positive vision of uniting people and bringing countries together. We follow the developments in Ukraine with sadness and shock and we hope for a quick and peaceful solution to the current situation. On Thursday evening, Formula 1, the FIA and the teams discussed the position of our sport and the conclusion, including the views of all relevant stakeholders, is that under the current circumstances it is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix.”

The main sponsor of the F1 team haas is the Russian Uralkali, which makes fertilizer for potato production. Haas has removed all sponsorship messages from the car and now drives completely in white. The Russian flag is also off the car. The future of Russian Haas driver Nikita Mazepin is therefore also uncertain. The team boss says that they are consulting with the lawyers about the situation.
