The young McLaren driver, who has built up a large fan base since his arrival in F1 in early 2019, has made no secret that he struggled with great pressure to become a Circus driver.
In particular, he said that the stress caused by his first races, when he feared he might lose his job if he didn’t live up to expectations, was something particularly difficult to deal with at the time.
But having sought help with the problems he faced, Norris was able to create better conditions for himself, also becoming a beacon for those facing problems in their life.
Norris is convinced that by being honest about what he was going through he reaped great benefits both for himself and for others.
“I am very happy to see more people talking about it and realizing that this can only benefit them and others,” said Lando.
“I don’t think there is anything negative about doing it. I think it will only help you get better, and it will certainly help you if you have a large following or if there are a lot of people watching you when you say it. You will only help people who are struggling with their problems “.

Lando then explained that he had had direct feedback from his fans on how much his attitude had positive implications.
“I am very happy and proud to be part of that group of people who have accepted it and are happy and confident to talk about it.”
“One of the things that made me think it was good to talk about it is my fans, my followers, especially when I started mentioning it the first few times.”
“Before I even talked about it publicly, some of them said when it was helping them and the impact it had on them. Then over time I realized that the impact I could have on hundreds or thousands of people was huge”.
“When I started getting messages from kids saying I had helped them or that I had made their friends or family feel better, it was really amazing.”
“So I realized that the impact I could have with my position in Formula 1, with all my fans and my followers, could be really huge.”
“So, I thought it was best to talk about it publicly and around the world, to try and help as many people as possible.”
