The celebratory livery, which fuses the artwork of Rabab Tantawy, a female artist from the United Arab Emirates, with the traditional blue and papaya colors of McLaren, will be used starting from the free practice on Friday.
The new colors were revealed at a special event in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening, and are the result of the “Driven by Change” campaign that Vuse launched with McLaren.
Vuse wants to give a platform to emerging artists over the age of 25 who do not yet have the recognition they deserve worldwide.
Tantawy’s work was conceived in collaboration with automotive designer Davide Virdis, and in this way she became the first female artist in the Middle East to have designed a Formula 1 livery.

Speaking of the livery changes, Claire Cronin, McLaren’s Chief Marketing Officer, said: “We are thrilled to bring the worlds of art and engines together in an innovative way, showing off Rabab Tantawy’s artwork on our cars at the Grand Abu Dhabi Award “.
“Together with Vuse, ‘Driven by Change’ is a unique opportunity to use our global stage to support emerging talent, giving yet unknown creatives the platform they deserve.”
“Rabab’s art is an inspiration and we are proud to bring his papaya-influenced creation to the competition this weekend.”
Abu Dhabi is the second livery change of the season, after the hugely successful one with the Gulf colors used at the Monaco Grand Prix.
