McLaren is carrying out the second filming day granted by the FIA: after spending a first day in Barcelona, the Woking team returned to the track in Bahrain the day before the start of official tests with a revised MCL36 in color and sponsors.
In the belly you can see the disappearance of the Velo logo which gives way to the slogan “A better tomorrow”, also used in the past by British American Tobacco to replace brands where advertising is prohibited, but the biggest change can be seen in the bonnet which is turned black to promote the McLaren Artura, the berlinetta that replaced the 570S in 2021. In the side view of the MCL36, the presence of orange in the “papaya” livery, characteristic of the team, is significantly reduced.

From the image we publish it also seems that the design of the bonnet is slightly different than what was used in the pre-season tests in Spain.
During the starting tests carried out on the starting straight by Daniel Ricciardo we also noticed an instrument on the ground useful for measuring the deformations: we remember that the McLaren was one of the cars that suffered the least from hopping on the straight, but all the teams are looking for solutions to limit porpoising that can heavily affect the performance of ground-effect F1 cars.
