There seems to be no peace for Nikita Mazepin. The Russian Haas driver, who already last year had become the protagonist of a situation that was hardly justifiable given to half the world’s social media, is back in the eye of the storm a few hours before the start of the Brazilian Formula 1 GP.
In the past few hours, a video has emerged in which Mazepin can clearly be seen pushing a bodyguard in a nightclub, images recorded by a smartphone at the end of the Mexican GP won by Max Verstappen.
Rumors immediately ran around, some of which spoke of a Mazepin badly kicked out of the nightclub. The rookie, rightly, is keen to give his version of events to the press.
“But what a fight, but what one kicked out of the nightclub. The situation is much simpler than that, ”Nikita declares at the press conference.
“No one was kicked out: I was annoyed because one of the team members wasn’t being let in with us, so I moved to clarify everything,” concludes Mazepin.

These words are echoed by the statements of Team Principal Haas, Gunther Steiner, who follows the line of the misunderstanding had between the pilot and the security men of the Mexican nightclub. “What you see is the result of an argument. I have not yet talked to Nikita because I have not yet had the opportunity to see him, but I think it all started because the boys wanted to move to an area in which they did not have the possibility to move”.
Nowadays, the life of any public figure is constantly under the eye of smartphone cameras. For Steiner, it is difficult for a driver to have a minimum of confidentiality compared to the past in these conditions.
“Anything you do in a club or place open to the public can be immediately filmed and broadcast”, concludes the Steiner controversy.
