How's the Ferrari SF-24? There is the tom-tom of the Cavallino fans who are waiting for indications on the behavior of the red car in Fiorano at the end of the filming day in which first, Carlos Sainz, and then, Charles Leclerc, had the opportunity to discover the new single-seater by covering 100 km each .
Nobody dared to comment, but the smiles on the faces of the pit crew mean something. Meanwhile, the first information is filtering in: the track has confirmed the data that the technicians had seen in the wind tunnel and on the dynamic test bench where the red car was subjected to about ten days of intensive testing with the complete car.

The two drivers, however, rediscovered when driving the SF-24 the sensations they had had in the simulator when Ferrari was still recognizable with the project code 676. The Scuderia, net of the commercial filming which was part of the work program, both for the Monegasque and the Spaniard, he completed all the runs that had been expected.
The first fact that greatly reassured the pilots was the absence of porpoising, the nightmare that had affected the SF-23 already in its first steps on its home track. The new Ferrari immediately proved easier to drive, respecting the project objectives that Enrico Cardile and his associates had set themselves.
Following the trip were Fred Vasseur and the vice president, Piero Ferrari, while the president, John Elkann, actively participated in the redhead's stickering. The feeling is that there is a rapprochement of the top management in F1 too, although a quick presentation was imposed which did little to satisfy the Cavallino fans who did not have the privilege of being at the edges of the Fiorano track in the few points still visible from outside .
Ferrari SF-24: on the Fiorano filming day the front wing was changed and a nolder appeared

Compared to the car seen in the studio photos for the launch, the first changes were seen on the filming day: the front wing was changed with a final profile that was less straight and more suited to generating the out wash effect, but with a nolder visible in the central part. Also on the mobile flap of the rear wing there was the appearance of a Gurney flap to ensure the necessary aerodynamic load on a slow track like that of Fiorano.

The engineers on the track led by Matteo Togninalli carried out various tests on the height of the surface from the asphalt, to understand how the car reacts to the new aerodynamic map which should offer a wider window of use for the tires and in parallel tests were carried out on setup of the new rear suspension moved with the kinematics further to the rear: the pull rod tie rod is inside the triangle, while on the SF-23 it pointed towards the front with a accentuated and non-ideal angle.
There were also other small changes: Sainz had started yesterday morning with the bazooka without open slits (at the presentation there were four gills), but then, when the air temperature began to rise, a vent of hot air was seen to part.

The SF-24 was designed to be modular in its bodywork: it has not escaped notice that the belly on the external side has already changed. A slightly more hollowed out configuration was tried (this can be seen from the Shell shell which deforms slightly on the new shapes) in search of greater aerodynamic efficiency.

Charles Leclerc drove in the afternoon with two slightly different bonnets: one, the one from the presentation, and then with a more streamlined version. When we described the red car after the launch we talked about a consistent single-seater, without any ingenuity. We can say that it is a well-born machine. Let's be clear, this doesn't mean it's a winner. But the step forward is unquestionable…
