A few days after his splendid debut in Formula 1 with Ferrari, Oliver Bearman once again got behind the wheel of a Red single-seater this morning, in Fiorano Modenese.
The 18-year-old Briton is lapping on the Ferrari-owned track at the wheel of an F1-75, the first ground effect single-seater created by the Scuderia di Maranello in this technical cycle which will end at the end of next season.
Bearman is facing a day dedicated to him, running on the track with Pirelli demo tyres, as required by the sporting regulations, and with a 2-year-old single-seater. The objective is to continue his development as a driver, doing so at the wheel of a single-seater very close in terms of technical characteristics to the current ones having connections with the SF-24 from an aerodynamic and mechanical point of view.
The program finalized for Bearman had already been planned for some time, taking advantage of the break between two grands prix – the one in Jeddah and the next in Melbourne – to continue the work which will have to allow Oliver to always remain ready in case of further need on the part of the Stable.
This, however, does not mean that it is a test planned specifically in view of the Australian Grand Prix. As already stated by Vasseur at the end of last weekend, Ferrari expects to have Carlos Sainz regularly replacing him and ready to race in Melbourne alongside Charles Leclerc.
The team should do another day of testing tomorrow, but behind the wheel of the F1-75 there should be an old acquaintance from Formula 1: Antonio Giovinazzi. For the Apulian, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023 with the Prancing Horse, it will be the first seasonal outing at the wheel of a Formula 1 single-seater.
