Ferrari is engaged with Charles Leclerc in the development of 18-inch tires for Pirelli: the Monegasque with the mule car that has already been used in tire development tests this season is collecting useful information to be transferred to next year’s car that is being born. in Maranello.
So far we have had few pictures of next year’s lowered tires, while the presence of Giorgio Piola in the pit lane it allows us to go beyond the knowledge of tires, also taking a look at the new baskets.

The basket has been adjusted in size to the dimensions of the new 18-inch rim and, of course, is considerably more bulky: the first thing that catches the eye is that it is completely closed in the front and upper part, while showing a large vent of the hot air in the rear area that our images have not yet been able to grasp.

The 2022 rules should prohibit the venting of air outside the circle, but observing the solution of the Cavallino mule car it emerges that blows are clearly visible, just like McLaren did which, together with Mercedes, made suitable baskets to the new wheels, while the others limited themselves to using traditional solutions with carbon covers and nothing more.

In fact, below you can see the basket that was mounted on the Red Bull driven by Max Verstappen: it is a simple adaptation that the Milton Keynes team made on the mule car.
