Ferrari has homologated the chassis of the red 2022. The Cavallino single-seater has also brilliantly passed the frontal crash test for which it has obtained from the FIA technical commissioners the ok to take to the track in the winter tests to be held in Barcelona from 23 to 25 February.
As always, Ferrari carried out the dynamic test at the CSI Center in Bollate which is recognized by the International Federation, while the English teams contact the Cranfield facility.

It is worth remembering that the Scuderia had already carried out a crash test prior to the end of 2020 when the Cavallino technicians had wanted to understand what were the constraints of the new regulation in the development of the ground-effect single-seater which was then postponed for a year, from 2021 to 2022 due to the effects of COVID which forced the sports authority to postpone the regulatory revolution to control costs.
The Alpine (again Renault) had also carried out the dynamic crash test in the same days as Ferrari: the data collected had been very useful in establishing the design constraints of the 2022 car which in the meantime has also been extensively revised in the front by the staff. directed by Enrico Cardile and the aerodynamicist David Sanchez.
The Scuderia, after two years without victories, wants to raise its head again next year, taking advantage of the discontinuity given by the new regulation …
“Obviously, if Mercedes and Red Bull have managed in recent years to develop the single-seaters we have seen – said Mattia BInotto -, it means that they have tools, methodologies, calculations, simulations, and other certainties that they have refined over time. It is presumptuous to declare today that we will beat Mercedes and Red Bull, because I think the correct approach is to set ourselves the goal of wanting to play it “.
“How many races do we want to win? As much as possible, when I say that as Ferrari we must always strive for the best, it’s true, we don’t want to start a low season in terms of expectations. What we will tell ourselves internally is that we want to win as many races as possible. “.
Ferrari is ready for the 2022 challenge: attention and curiosity is growing about a team that wants to regain its rightful place in F1 …
