Alpine is in the middle of an abyss. A season that started with important expectations, but immediately ended in the worst possible way with an A524 starring only in the beautiful presentation in February, while when it took to the track it only showed the worst side of itself, the most important one, which concerns performance.
Following the first race, once the technical and aerodynamic difficulties of the A524s were understood, the team had to deal with the resignation of technical director Matt Harman and Dirk de Beer, aerodynamic manager.
At that point Alpine was forced to review its technical management to ensure that it had a good organization to deal with a complex situation and try to turn around the fortunes of a season that had begun under the worst auspices.
“It's certainly not a fun time,” said Alpine team principal Bruno Famin in an exclusive interview with F1.com. “We are obviously not where we would like in terms of performance and results. We are not making plans to be 15th and 16th. We want to be at the front, we want to develop the performance of the car and we want to fight for podiums and victories as soon as possible.”

“We want to use these difficult moments. We all know that over the years there are ups and downs. We are at the bottom now, but we will use this opportunity to come back stronger very soon and for sure make the necessary changes to the team to achieve our goals “.
Famin wanted to point out that the current single-seater, the A524, is the result of the previous technical management. Almost a release of responsibility with the aim of rolling up our sleeves to reverse the situation.
“The car we have now is the result of the previous management of the team. But what is important is what we are doing now. And I am happy with what we are doing. Clearly the road we have to travel is very long and we really have a lot to do improve”.
“We have a real project with Alpine. We can have the project of developing the Alpine brand in motorsport, and in Formula 1 in particular. We have full support from the management. The team is absolutely not for sale. We will continue to push to achieve our goals” .
