After forming the NDA government once again in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, the BJP’s eyes are now on the south. For this, former president of the party and presently Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself has taken the front. Amit Shah did not even care for protocol to greet his supporters in Chennai on Saturday. They got out of the vehicle and started walking on the busy GST road outside the airport. Shah is on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu. He thanked the people of the metropolis for their love and said that it is a big thing for them to be in Tamil Nadu.
Soon after arriving from Delhi, Shah was received by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, senior cabinet members and BJP state president L Murugan and others. After exiting the airport, Shah’s car came to a sudden halt and he walked on foot to greet BJP and AIADMK workers.
State Chief Secretary K Shanmugam, Director General of Police JK Tripathi, Chennai Police Commissioner Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal and other officials were also present during Shah’s visit. Shah was given a grand welcome by AIADMK and BJP workers present on both sides of the road from the airport. Inspired by this, Amit Shah got down from his vehicle and walked far enough to accept his greeting.

Tight security arrangements have been made in the wake of Shah’s visit. During the visit, he is likely to hold a meeting with state BJP officials on the proposed Tamil Nadu assembly elections in April-May next year. Meanwhile, Shah tweeted and thanked the city for the love and support. He posted a video clip of the padyatra on GST Road and tweeted – It has always been wonderful to be in Tamil Nadu, thanks to Chennai for this love and support.
