The reports sent by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard to the court in the Rubiales case regarding the search of his mansion in the Dominican Republic on April 1 give a good account of the very high standard of living that the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and its partner Francisco Martín Alcaide, better known as Nene, were in the Caribbean.
According to the latest documents included in the 'Operation Brody' summary, to which this newspaper has had access, both, with two other people, lived in a 700 square meter mansion, with a private pool and just a few minutes walk in the exclusive Punta Cana beach. The UCO points out that it was Nene who rented this mansion, which costs about 1,000 euros per day, on April 5, 2023, through the company Status Sport Group, one of the firms that are at the center of the investigation against Rubiales and his partner for business corruption, unfair administration, money laundering and criminal organization.
The agents of the Civil Guard and the Dominican Prosecutor's Office who raided the house also found a Porsche Macan in the name of Rubiales. The documentation of the vehicle – the report says – reveals that the former president bought it for $35,925 on March 8, just two weeks before the Civil Guard operation was launched. The officials also found a Rolex and seven phones, in addition to several memories and the documentation of a Jeep Chevrolet Tahoe.
Rubiales' high standard of living contrasts with the interview he gave this April to La Sexta, which he met in a modest apartment. In that interview, the former president of the Federation stated: “I don't even have the possibility of paying for a Coca-Cola, I have all my accounts here and in Spain blocked, and without having proven anything.”
