On the days of 19 and 20 February 2022the second season of Extreme E will officially kick off in Saudi Arabia, home to the first of the five overall rounds scheduled in the calendar reserved for electric SUVs. Pending the inaugural test of the year, the category, through its social media accounts, has meanwhile presented the map that the pilots will have to face in that of Neomon a natural circuit with a total length of 6.9 km.
A track that, in addition to presenting several fast points, will also be characterized by several slope changes and land. Specifically, in fact, SUVs will mainly have to cope with a circuit with sandy bottom – being located in the Saudi desert – but, at the same time, there are still sectors in which the twenty participants will have to pay attention to rocky stretchessuch as to make driving more demanding during the two days of challenges.

With this official status, Saudi Arabia was therefore confirmed as Desert X-Prix of 2022, one year after the stage held in the locality of Al’-Ula. The nation, moreover, will be the only one representing the Asian continent, and will start the world championship fight after the outcome of last season: the 2021 champion title has in fact ended up in the hands of the Swedish Johan Kristofferson and the Australian Molly Taylor, both behind the wheel of the Rosberg X Racing team, founded by the 2016 Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg.
