Today, Saturday, officials reported explosions in both the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine and the city of Belgorod in western Russia, following an air strike.
“Four civilians were injured in Kharkiv, three men and a woman,” Ukrainian regional military governor Oleh Sinyhopov said on the Telegram app.
Sinyhopov added, “Aerial glide bombs were also dropped” on the village of Cherkassky near the border.
There were also reports that a powerful explosion occurred across the border in Russia at around the same time, causing some media outlets to publish reports of a possible bomb. In Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the regional governor of the region in western Russia, reported that an explosion occurred in Belgorod.
Gladkov indicated that he was on his way to the accident site. The Belgorod governor noted that five people were injured, but did not give any details about the cause of the bombing.
