As Renfe explains on its website, this document is a nominative and non-transferable card that can be acquired by those who have reached this age and that gives the right to obtain discounts under the established conditions.
This card can be used in Ave, International Ave, Long Distance, Avant, Conventional Medium Distance and Cercaníaswith significant discounts on all of them.

This Renfe card has recently acquired new online functionalities which allows those who have it to manage it directly online.
For example, you can renew the card without having to go to a point of sale with the same cost: six euros for one year, 12 euros for two years and 15 euros for three years. You can also download, print or forward the passbook or cancel the card within 15 days of renewal, which is a procedure that can only be carried out online.
«You can pay for the website renewal with a credit or debit card and Bizum. Once the process is completed, you will receive the Gold Card for download in PDF format or Passbook, as well as confirmation of said renewal by email,” emphasizes Renfe.
In addition to online, you can also get this card in the station ticket offices and in-person travel agencies. At the ticket offices the card can be canceled without charge on the same day of purchase or renewal.
This is one of Renfe’s loyalty programs through which seniors can benefit from traveling at a cheaper price.
