Five couples locked in a hotel with a corpse. This is the argumentative premise of
‘Everybody does’, a comedy in the form of a thriller signed by Martín Cuervo.
Salva Reina, Kira Miró, Carlo Santos, Marian Hernández, Julián López, Andrea Duro, Macarena Gómez, Pablo Carbonell, Toni Acosta and Víctor Palmero star in ‘Todos lo hace’, Hugo Martín Cuervo’s second feature film, a comedy in the key of a thriller. after ‘With whom do you travel’, a film presented at the last Malaga Festival and scheduled to premiere on September 10, which also features Salva Reina as the main character. That film follows four passengers in a Bla Bla Car, which one is more disparate. During the trip they will be making confidences, sharing experiences, ideals, wishes and. frustrations and unveiling some surprises.
‘Everyone does it’, whose filming has already finished on the island of Tenerife, tells the story of five couples who receive an invitation to spend a weekend at the hotel where they got married and solve a certain tax problem. Among them Mariví (Andrea Duro), who is pregnant and Juan Carlos (Julián López) or Sergio (Salva Reina) and Laura (Kira Miró). What neither partner knows is that the host wants to blackmail them. And much less that, the next day, a dead person will appear. “A snowfall, two forest guards and a murder will keep them locked up there until this comedy of entanglement is resolved,” says Martín Cuervo. One murder and ten suspects.
The script is signed by Marta Sánchez (‘Until the wedding separates us’, ‘There down’, ‘Aida’) and Irene Niubó (the series ‘Mothers’ and ‘Treufoc’). A rural hotel lost in the middle of nowhere, a murder and 10 suspects are the premise of this story whose filming will last until the beginning of July in locations in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In the words of its screenwriters, “it would be the result of a night of passion between Agatha Christie and Luis García Berlanga.”
Hugo Martín Cuervo, 33, in addition to being a film director, is a screenwriter, actor and musician (for which he uses his alter ego of Sethler), the son of a film technician and a flight attendant, who grew up among sets and drawers of camera in the filming of his father, establishing in him a very early fondness for the cinematographic thing. In 2009 he was nominated for a Goya for the short film ‘Final’, being the youngest short filmmaker to achieve it.
‘They all do it’ is produced by Álamo Producciones (‘The best summer of my life’, ‘Litus’,’ Until the wedding separates us’), in co-production with A Contracorriente Films (‘The library’, ‘The illustrious citizen ‘), who will also be in charge of the film’s distribution.
