Zakharova: The Russian Federation sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry after the ambassador’s trip to Bucha
Russia sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry after the republic’s ambassador’s trip to the Ukrainian city of Bucha. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova.
The diplomat called the visit of the head of the capital’s administrative district of Nor-Nork, Tigran Ter-Margaryan, and the head of the diplomatic mission, Vladimir Karapetyan, an openly unfriendly step on the part of Yerevan.
In connection with the transfer of assistance to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the unacceptable statements made there against Russia, a note of protest was sent to the Armenian Foreign Ministry. From such a figure as Tigran Ter-Margaryan, an ally of the chairman of the pro-Western Republic party Aram Sargsyan, we did not expect anything else. It is unfortunate that the Armenian authorities agree with this
Tigran Ter-Margaryan and Vladimir Karapetyan visited Bucha on June 2. However, the Chairman of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan reported on June 7 that the Armenian delegation did not visit the Ukrainian city.

Russia has repeatedly called the events in Bucha a provocation on the part of Kyiv
In the spring of 2022, the Ukrainian authorities, as well as a number of foreign media outlets, published footage of the bodies of people lying on the streets of Bucha after the Russian military left the village.
In response to accusations of the alleged involvement of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) in this, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that this was a provocation. Since then, Russian officials have repeatedly called Kyiv’s accusations fabricated and false.
In April 2022, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case regarding the events in Bucha under Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code (“Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”). According to investigators, the Ukrainian side, for the purpose of discrediting, distributed videos with supposed evidence of the mass extermination of civilians by the Russian military.
Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the events in Bucha are “absolute fiction and a specially staged staging.”
In April of this year, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya noted that Ukraine rejected its best chance for peace under Western pressure by staging a provocation in Bucha.
