Belgrade – Gregorio Paltrinieri he won gold in the 10km open water at the European Championships in Belgrade. On the inaugural day of the cross-country skiing, the Italian dominated the Olympic event in 1h49’12″2, leaving behind the world champion silver, Marc-Antoine Olivier and the world champion in Doha Kristof Rasovszky. Domenico Acerenza was fourth in a now 49’19″2.
