On the third day of the regular season, the Dolomites still fall at home. Only Williams is saved. The Lithuanian team stretches at the start and closes easily in the last quarter
TRENTO-LIETKABELIS 61-77
Trento falls for the third time in as many games and remains at the bottom of Group A of Eurocup. To take the scalp to Molin’s team are this time the Lithuanians of Lietkabelis of the former Radicevic, who win the second game of the season. Trento’s approach to the game is not the best. Sparacchiare dall’arco (1/8 of three after 10 ‘) does not bring benefits to the Dolomites, put under from the beginning by the greater energy put in by the guests among which the Greek starlet Kalaitzakis is the protagonist, author of 9 of the 24 points scored in the first fraction (12-24 after 10 ‘). The spirit is better when the game resumes, but the ball just doesn’t seem to want to enter. However, Trento has the merit of not giving up and manages to reduce the gap that separates it from the opponents. First with Reynolds ‘two triple spins, then with Saunders’ mid-range shot that brings her to only one possession away (29-32). Trento also arrives at -1 (another triple by Reynolds and a counterattack finalized by Saunders), the three-point game by Zemaitis brings the game to 34-38 at the long interval. L’Aquila soon finds the draw (43-43, 6 points from Williams, the best), but on the other side Kalaitzakis continues to have a warm hand from the bow and brings his own (44-53) forward. The last quarter opens with a triple from Zemaitis and is not a good omen. Williams and Flaccadori try to keep Trento afloat, but a couple of bad turnovers in attack frustrate the possible comeback. Panevezys spread in the final, with a triple from Lipkevicius one minute from the end that put an end to the challenge. For coach Molin only bad signals.
Trento: Williams 18, Reynolds 13, Flaccadori 9
Lietkabelis: Kalaitzakis 20, Orelik 14, Gagic 11
