The echo of the success of the Italian national team at the European football championships does not subside and also overwhelms the world of Formula 1. After the duel to the sound of tweets and teasing between Ferrari and Mercedes, it was up to the drivers to make their cheers heard at the end of the yesterday’s match between Italy and England, won at Wembley on penalties by Roberto Mancini’s band. The only Italian driver of the Circus, Antonio Giovinazzi, enjoyed joking around on social media with Lando Norris, McLaren standard bearer and fan of the Three Lions national team, so much so that he was present yesterday in the stadium of the Euro 2020 final.
The Bristol driver, one of the best in this first part of the F1 season, expressed his disappointment over the defeat via Instagram. Giovinazzi’s response arrived immediately. The Italian referred to the famous mockery that is made via social media to the current Inter coach – and former Lazio coach – Simone Inzaghi. “Maybe you don’t know what it means but … SPIAZE”, wrote the Alfa Romeo driver to his colleague. Even without understanding the exact meaning of the term, however, we are sure that Norris in this case has got the message.
