The Eternals film has just been released worldwide and the comments it has received since days before its premiere have generated some controversy among the audience. This has been revealed by its bad rating on Rotten Tomatoes and its recent censorship in some countries for presenting a homosexual couple. This last point has not been to the liking of the actress and star of the film Angelina Jolie, who recently reacted to the prohibition of one of the most significant projects for Marvel, calling those responsible “ignorant”.
“I’m sad”, He said in reference to audiences that they will not be able to watch the new MCU production. “And I’m proud of Marvel for refusing to cut those scenes,” Jolie explained in an interview for the Australian news outlet.
“I still do not understand how we live in a world today in which there are still people who would not see the family that Phastos has and the beauty of that relationship and that love”, the actress pointed out. “Whoever is angry about it, feels threatened, does not approve of it or appreciates it is ignorant”, added.

The Eternals ban
Eternals will not be able to be seen in theaters of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. The Hollywood Reporter portal collected information from certain sources and explained that the censorship is due in large part to the scene in which Phastos’s character (Brian Tyree Henry) and her husband (Haaz Sleiman) kiss on screen.
In the countries of Persian Gulf, homosexuality is strictly prohibited and films that may contain any type of scene or minimal reference to the LGTBIQ + community may be censored or completely removed from the box office, as has happened with the new Marvel movie.
Anticipating that this was something that could happen, the director of the 26th film of the MCU, Chloé Zhao, had a conversation in which she asked Marvel not to cut some scenes that could be seen in a bad way in other parts of the world. Thus, the request seems to have been respected so far, since there have been no reports that the studio has given in to remove any part of the film.
