Romeo Ferraris is ready to face the next round of the FIA ETCR in Budapest, from 10 to 12 June.
The stage on the Hungarian circuit should have been the third of 2022, in the championship calendar for electric touring cars, but in fact it has become the second after the postponement of the trip to Istanbul in November.
The manufacturer of Opera will present himself at the Hungaroring with a strong second place in the general classification, the same occupied at the end of the 2021 season. The drivers Romeo Ferraris, Luca Filippi, Maxime Martin, Bruno Spengler and Giovanni Venturini in the inaugural round of Pau helped to to collect 117 points in the constructors’ standings, thanks in particular to the successes of the Canadian and the Belgian in their respective Quarter Final 2, and that of Venturini in the Semi Final 2 of the “Furious” pool.

In France, however, the Italian team was unable to fully capitalize on the potential of its Giulia ETCR, due to the accidents that Venturini and Filippi ran into due to contacts with overly aggressive opponents.
Sharing the same car, the impact against Filippi’s barriers in the DHL Super Final of the “Fast” pool did not allow compatriot Venturini to compete in the final of the “Furious” pool due to the damage suffered.
Upon returning to the headquarters, however, the Romeo Ferraris staff did a great job to restore and reassemble the car, avoiding the risk of an absence for the race in Turkey.
The forced break that was created, in any case, allowed the team to have more time available to prepare for the Hungarian match, which should have taken place from 20 to 22 May.

“We are ready to return to action in the FIA ETCR after a longer than expected wait, given the postponement of the trip to Istanbul. This makes us even more determined to fully demonstrate the potential we have, both technically and as drivers, afterwards. the accidents that compromised our weekend in Pau “, said Michela Cerruti, Team Principal of Romeo Ferraris.
“The extent of the damage suffered by the Giulia ETCR shared by Luca and Giovanni had initially questioned our presence in Turkey, but the mechanics were formidable in rearranging the car in a few days: the Istanbul race was postponed, but we would be in any case, they were able to play it regularly. For this I have to congratulate all our staff from the heart. “
“The prolonged break has in any case allowed us to have more time available to prepare and optimize our package. Now we want to collect results that live up to our expectations, obviously with the hope that the rivals will maintain more correct driving standards” .
