Essay on nostalgia has to do with different episodes that a woman lives, in this case Aurora, who is the character that Melissa plays. “Aurora has to work through different stages of grief. In her work she talks about a past that she cannot resolve, but that she uses different coping strategies and sometimes does therapy exercises. In itself, the entire work is an essay, an attempt to get out of those episodes, which many times does not succeed, “explained the writer. The author of said monologue specified that in order to write the work he started from a self-fiction, since it has situations, memories and experiences of both Melissa and him as a playwright, with some changes from reality.
The tour
Since its premiere in September, Essay on Nostalgia is in its seventh presentation and is a work that is aimed at audiences over 12 years of age. José Luis Sánchez shared that they plan to take the work to Bogotá, as well as to his native Colombia, and for next year there are plans to present it in Europe. He invited the public of Mazatlan to enjoy the work, since it is a story that, despite the fact that it has several scenes of pain, behind it there are moments of comedy.

José Luis Sánchez writes, directs and acts around the theater, he has been passionate about this profession since he was 15 years old and has brought it to Mexico, as well as allowing him to travel through Europe. As a teacher he has extensive experience and that has allowed him to have the opportunity to write for the León Theater company 7 great plays, all of them already released and 8 more that have been published in magazines and on different platforms. For her part, Melissa Padilla has been the co-founder of the Teatro de León company since 2016. She is a graduate of the Mazatlan Professional Dance School. She is a choreographer, dancer, teacher and since last year she made her acting debut.
