Espargaró’s next step
Alex Espargaro he will leave MotoGP, but he could do so gradually. The Spaniard will retire from racing at the end of the season, but as we reported in his future there is the role of test driver. A guise that teases him, because ultimately Espargaró’s retirement has to do with motivation and not with his physique: guiding the technical path of a motorbike towards the revolution of 2027, without the stress of the grand prix, would allow him to listen to passion and brain.
Yes but where?
Espargaró himself admitted that staying at Aprilia is difficult. The destination could be Honda, where the challenge is to bring the Japanese back to the top: it was the magazine that reported it Autosport.
Currently Honda’s test driver is Stefan Bradl, but the German’s indications to Honda do not seem useful in getting out of the technical quagmire. Also welcoming a highly experienced former Aprilia could be a further way out after the one undertaken with the acquisition of Johann Zarco and Luca Marini, coming from the Ducati universe.
Aleix’s brother – Pol – also became a tester. Unlike the Aprilia rider, however, he became one by choice of KTM, who put him on the bench for Pedro Acosta to make his MotoGP debut.
