The future of Sumar’s current spokesperson in Congress, Íñigo Errejón, is up in the air. The public denunciation of several women who claim to have suffered mistreatment on his part is leading him to consider his resignation. This is confirmed by Public different sources close to the deputy and his party, Más País. Sumar is currently evaluating a political and collective decision.
It all stems from a publication by journalist Cristina Fallarás on Instagram that included the anonymous complaint of a woman who narrated the episodes of sexist violence at the hands of “a politician who lives in Madrid.” Later he refers to said politician as “the social indignant” who “never shows his head on the days of 8M.” “He is a psychological abuser, a true psychopath, a monster,” the message describes.
This case was echoed by other social media users who pointed directly to Errejón. Although the most widespread X message in which the politician was identified by his first and last name was later deleted, it had accumulated 229,000 views.
