The official representative of the President of Turkey Ibrahim Kalin wrote on his page in Twitterthat the crew of the victim on Saturday, August 14, the crash of the Russian Be-200 aircraft heroically fought against forest fires in the country.
“We are deeply saddened by the deaths of the Turkish and Russian crews as a result of the plane crash that extinguished the fire. They fought heroically with fire during these difficult days. We offer our condolences to the Russian people, ”the message says.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a telegram to his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan expressing deep condolences over the deaths of Turkish citizens on board.
The plane crashed in eastern Turkey near the city of Kahramanmaras earlier that day. The vessel was leased by the Turkish side from Russia.
The disaster killed five crew members from among the Russian military, as well as three Turkish citizens.
The Russian Defense Ministry told Izvestia that the plane crashed after completing the task when it was landing. Onboard there were five Russian servicemen and three representatives of the Turkish Republic, pointing out to the crew where the fires were extinguishing.
To find out the reasons for the incident, a commission of the Russian Ministry of Defense was sent to the crash site.
In addition, the Turkish Air Force dispatched an aircraft and a helicopter to the crash site of the Russian Be-200 aircraft.
At the same time, according to a source of Izvestia, a possible cause of the crash could be an engine failure.
