Republicans consider the PSOE proposal “insufficient” and again link the negotiation to the approval of the Public Accounts
To Esquerra it still seems “insufficient to protect Catalan” the Audiovisual Law project approved last week in the Council of Ministers. Despite the fact that last week they separated the negotiation of the future norm from that of the General State Budgets, this Thursday the Republicans presented several amendments to the Accounts in the Senate. The sovereignists also reminded the Government that their approval is still up in the air because their support “is not guaranteed.”

The amendments presented are territorial in scope and would affect investments in Bages, Delta del Ebro, Maresme, Tarragonès or Lleida, among others, as well as a clause for compliance with planned investments and the incorporation of a covid fund of 13,000 millions of euros.
The truth is that from Esquerra they presume to continue using “our negotiating force” as a measure of pressure to drag the Executive to their positions. Sources from the Republican parliamentary group consider that the PSOE “promised to approve the law only with Esquerra”, but insist that they will not approve a text that does not “provide a good response to the current situation of marginalization of Catalan on audiovisual platforms.” They add, yes, that there is room for negotiation both in the processing of this law and in the framework of the Budgets.
