Today on Twitterthe boss of Epic Games Tim Sweeney stated the location of the digital store Epic Games Store on NFT. On this topic he was called by a Twitter user in the wake of the statements made by Minecraft on its refusal to integrate this technology and in general those using the blockchain.
“Developers should be free to decide how to develop their games and you are free to decide whether you want to play them or not. I think shops and OS creators shouldn’t interfere by imposing their opinion on others. We certainly won’t“.
As for the Epic Games Store, Tim Sweeney is therefore clear: no provision will prevent NFT games from being available on the digital store. However, it takes a different stance when it comes to games developed by the company. Speaking of Fortnite, he then said: “We are not using NFT because the whole field is currently entangled in a dense mix of scams, biased tech foundations and more“.
Developers should be free to decide how to build their games, and you are free to decide whether to play them. I believe stores and operating system makers shouldn’t interfere by forcing their views onto others. We definitely won’t.

NFTs are a technology that allows you to assign an owner to a digital object (image, video, etc.). Since 2021 they are talked about for its integration into video games: some publishers, such as Ubisoft, have tried to introduce them.
