The government of the Russian Federation decided from July 20, 2021 to begin an experiment on the use of an enhanced electronic signature on the public services portal. It is reported by RIA News…
An enhanced electronic signature is formed as a result of crypto-transformation of information and consists of public and private keys. It provides the best level of protection, so it is used to certify important documents of legal value. Qualified ES is created using cryptographic protection tools certified by the FSB.
The objective of the experiment is to study the possibility of its use by individuals when receiving public services. The experiment will be coordinated by the RF Ministry of Digital Science. The test will run until July 31, 2022.
In June, ESET IT Director Ruslan Suleimanov talked about how to prevent the spread of confidential data on the network. “Get a separate SIM card and e-mail for registration in online stores and services, as well as come up with a pseudonym. This will complicate your identification in the event of massive data breaches. In the case of portals of public services and banks, where real full names and document data are needed, set a strong password and enable two-factor authentication, ”the expert said. He stressed that the theft of access to such services can lead to financial losses and “legal problems.”
