National team football is back and in Europe we have friendly matches prior to Euro 2024. One of the standout matches these weeks is England – Iceland which will be played on Friday, June 7 at Wembley. Gareth Southgate’s men are usually one of the strongest teams on paper, but they have not finished demonstrating their potential.
This is England’s possible lineup for the match, the last before the Euros begin on June 14.
BY-Pickford: The goalkeeper chosen by the English team. Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale have had good seasons, but the Everton player is usually the starting goalkeeper in the national team.
LD-Walker: The City full-back has proven to be the best option. Trippier started the season very well but his performance has dropped a bit.

DFC- Stones: The central position is the one that generates the most doubts in the selection. Stones has returned from an injury and is already at a good level, so he can be a starter.
DFC-Maguire: Maguire has been Southgate’s chosen centre-back for many years. He has played quite a few games this campaign and has done so with solvency.
LI- Joe Gómez: If Shaw arrives with doubts, it would be the only logical solution at left back. The Liverpool man is a great option for the full-back.
DCM-Rice: Declan Rice has taken this position in the national team and it doesn’t seem like anyone is going to move him. In a team full of stars, the West Ham player does not drop out of the eleven.
MC- Mainoo: Kobbie is one of the pearls of the future and Southgate is lucky to have him. She has already shown that she is very important at United and her importance in the team is only going to increase.
MCO-Palmer: With all the quality that there is in the team, someone who brings youth and electricity on the field always comes in handy. Palmer is the perfect player for this role.
ED-Saka: The Arsenal player does not lower his performance and seems to have no ceiling. He is being one of the leaders in an Arsenal that is first in the Premier League.
DC- Kane: Another one who, no matter what happens, will remain in the England eleven. He is one of the best forwards in the world and any European team would like to have him on their team.
EI- Grealish: The Manchester City player has been gaining confidence since his arrival at Pep’s team. Grealish is enjoying football again and is a very dangerous player. We are waiting for you as Foden’s substitute at the EURO.
What England’s lineup would look like on the field (4-3-3)
Goalie: Pickford
Defenses: Walker, Stones, Gomez, Maguire
Midfielders: Palmer, Rice, Mainoo
