Octopus, the success is based on Kraken, the proprietary technology platform in the cloud
The big English energy company aims to land in Italy, following the same winning path as in the United Kingdom: the goal is to combine both the proposal of energy to the final customer and the use of renewables at innovative rates, which can allow customers to benefit from cheaper and green energy.
Octopus Energy is the fastest growing energy provider in the UK, with 3.1 million customers since its launch a little over five years ago. Its success is based on Kraken, the proprietary cloud technology platform which, in addition to guaranteeing maximum operational efficiency, is also able to enable excellent customer management and widespread use of renewable energy thanks to smart tariffs. The target company, Sato Light and Gas is an Italian energy supplier based in Ascoli Piceno, in central Italy.
In 2016, the new CEO Giorgio Tomassetti started the company on a path of growth with the aim of building a modern energy supplier that was able to guarantee the highest standards of customer service, also through the use of a multi-channel approach. Sato is now active in eleven Italian regions and supplies thousands of customers.
Greg Jackson, CEO and founder of Octopus Energy, comments: "We have great ambitions for Italy and we have found an amazing team that will grow our business and be at the forefront of leading the green energy revolution in Italy. We know that the model proposed by Octopus works: Our teams in the US and Germany have seen their clientele grow five and seven times, respectively, in the past year. Now we want to focus on Italy and we can't wait to see what results we can achieve in this market ".
According to Giorgio Tomassetti, CEO of Sato Luce e Gas: "Octopus Energy represents a business model fantastic with an almost obsessive attention to the customer, made possible also thanks to the innovative technology available ".
