Olkiluoto The third reactor has started producing electricity for the first time on the national grid on Saturday afternoon, says TVO. The unit was connected to the mains with a capacity of 103 megawatts.
During a trial period of about four months, the power will be gradually increased to 1,600 megawatts.
OL3’s regular electricity production will start in July. When regular electricity production begins, OL3 will generate about 14 percent of Finland’s total electricity consumption.
