Remote work differs from its traditional counterpart, and it affects team members, because the communication process between them will not be traditional, but nevertheless, this system can succeed if it is well planned by following four procedures that include:
- Defining the goals of the work team, by working as one team, even if they are working remotely, with setting a set of goals, and ensuring that they are clearly communicated to employees.
– Use technology to enhance communication, and to ensure that team members who work from home have Internet access, conferencing, file sharing, and use of other software.
– Communicate with the work team, to make sure that its members do not feel isolated, by arranging for short meetings.
- Managing the workload in advance, by completing the tasks within the specified deadlines, and informing the work team of the deadlines for each task, and if the project requires six weeks to complete, for example, it should be divided into weekly stages.
