The winners of the Emmy Awards 2022. The battle between the series Succession and the Korean phenomenon Squid Game (the first non-English language to be nominated for Best Drama Series) ultimately saw the former prevail, with 25 nominations.
Yet the South Korean series managed to close the awards season with two major accolades: actor Lee Jung-jae and director Hwang Dong-hyuk bring home Emmys for Best Actor and Best Director in a Drama Series, the first time for an Asian artist.
Remaining on the categories of actors Zendaya his second wins Emmy for Euphoria, becoming the youngest actress (just 26 years old) to have won two statuettes. Jean Smart, star of the comedy Hacks, she again won an Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy Series following last year’s award. Michael Keaton (Dopesick) and Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout) as best actors in self-contained series.
Returning to the series, Ted Lasso is awarded Best Comedy Series as well as its protagonist Jason Sudeikis, while The White Lotusdominated in the categories of the best miniseries of the year including (in addition to the award for best stand-alone series) the Emmys for Best Supporting Actors to Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge.
