A citizen student at the School of Scientific Creativity devised a smart money box to save money, with the aim of encouraging children to a culture of savings, and instilling the value of rationalizing spending in them from a young age.
Student Ali Hamid Al-Loghani told “Emirates Today” that the smart piggy bank project differs from ordinary piggy banks, as it is like a game that emits sounds and written encouragement signals to its owner, which makes children more inclined to acquire it and use it to save.
He added that he recycled a box after the item in it was finished using the “Microbit” program, and it had sensors, and a small screen, on which the phrase “Thank you for putting the money” appears, with a smiling face appearing, in the event that money was placed in the piggy bank, and in the event that no money was placed. New, “I’m sad because there is no money”, and a frowning face appears. Al-Loughani added that he started implementing innovations from an early age, explaining that he produced a number of innovations, and participated in competitions for innovators inside and outside the country, and his ranking was in advanced positions among the contestants in each competition.
He continued, “I find great support from my mother in every project I think of to implement, and the encouragement I received from my father and uncle to continue innovation interests me greatly, because they are engineers, and they give me advice and guidance in many steps of implementing any project.”
He stated that he faces a number of difficulties, and is able to overcome them by searching on the Internet, and communicating with his teachers at the school.
