The Emirates Foundation for School Education has adopted a plan to communicate with students’ parents during the 2021-2022 school year, which includes two tracks; The first focuses on meetings, and the second through communication channels.
The Foundation identified three types of meetings, which are “the beginning of the school year meeting”, through the meeting of school administrations with students and their parents, which includes a presentation of the model of the operational plan that they will follow, and clarification of all elements of the master plan, which includes new school policies and procedures, and “meetings.” The periodical”, defined in a schedule of meetings with parents of students of each stage to clarify developments and build families’ confidence in the school’s procedures to maintain the security and safety of their children, in addition to encouraging them to vaccinate their children, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and health authorities in the country, and educating them about their educational roles.
Finally, “individual meetings”, through individual meetings with the student’s guardian to discuss his son’s academic and behavioral needs for the purpose of joint work with him, according to a systematic plan to support the student, in cooperation with teachers, academic advisor or social worker.
The Foundation recommended, through the guide for designing the school day for the current academic year, within the second track of the guide to communicate with parents of students on communication channels, where each school allocates a hotline to be a channel for communication, receiving notes and inquiries of parents and dealing with the challenges facing their children as soon as possible.
The Foundation stressed the need to announce the hotline in all means of communication dedicated to the school, such as social media, the smart learning platform and guiding boards, as well as providing the educational channel that defines the communication channels that will be used in the educational facility, to inform parents of everything related to health and safety procedures. and developments in the educational process.
The guide identified 20 tasks that parents of students carry out during school days, the most prominent of which is providing the student with personal protective equipment (face masks – hand sanitizer – gloves before leaving the house), and directing the student to adhere to the use of personal protective equipment throughout his stay in school or the bus, and not to exchange Tools with colleagues.
The tasks included the necessity of checking the student’s temperature before going to school, making sure that it is less than 37.5 degrees, submitting medical documents to the relevant school administration in case of infection, informing the school administration if the student suffers from a deficiency of immunity or any health diseases and submitting all medical reports .
The guide stressed the importance of following up on the student’s commitment to attend school, school regulations, school timing, responding to the school’s communication with them in the event of any symptoms appearing on the children during the school day, verifying that the children did not come into contact with infected people at least two weeks before school hours, and communicating with the educational facility in Cases of infection, suspicion or contact.
