Falls, alcohol poisoning and fires are the most repeated issues in the first morning of 2023
Last New Year’s Eve, the Emergency Coordination Center of the Region of Murcia had to deal with more than 1,800 incidents. Between 12 noon on December 31 and 12 noon on January 1, a total of 3,153 calls were received, a similar figure to last year (2,956 calls answered and 2,073 issues processed). In comparison with a non-holiday weekend, like the one on December 17 and 18, 2,443 calls were registered, involving the management of 1,591 matters.
By type of incidence, the majority have been of a health nature, since there have been 876 cases between emergencies and consultations. The main types were alcohol poisoning (65), respiratory distress (82) and trauma, falls or precipitation (87).
As for the events related to public safety, there were 365, of which there were 56 fights, 47 injuries, 75 noise or problems with neighbors, and 40 traffic accidents.
Finally, the firefighters attended 85 fires, of which 24 were container burns.
Murcia was the municipality with the most cases (810), followed by Cartagena (227) and Lorca (99) during the last night.
