For many, Apple’s WWDC 2024 was the most important event in terms of software development for this company in a decade, as they are going all-in on Artificial Intelligence. However, several technocrats are on this new Apple Intelligence proposal for security reasons and perhaps the most vocal is Elon Musk.
When Apple announced that it was going to integrate Siri with ChatGPT, many of us were shocked by the result of the merger. Although it is a merger focused on the company’s newest mobile phones, it never ceases to surprise what it can do. This, as we mentioned, did not please Elon Musk and argues that if Apple integrates OpenAI at the operating system level, devices like the iPhone will be banned from its company.

Elon Musk is not entirely wrong in criticizing Apple’s security
It must be admitted that Elon Musk has a point in the aspect of how Apple will be addressing the issue of artificial intelligence. If the most recent iPhone, iMac or iPad can handle the process that ChatGPT needs to do, then they will, but if not, they will have to connect to the cloud and ask you for authorization for said connection, just as happens with other applications .
The point is that there can also be a type of data leak if the information is not encrypted. The variables are many and we must also take them into account. From unlocking an iPhone with your face to your fingerprint, anything can happen and no one wants that to happen.
What is a fact is that everything that is done from the phone will stay there. It cannot be transferred and will be deleted if necessary. If you jump from iPhone 15 to 16 – just to give an example – everything that Siri learned will be thrown away and everything will have to be from scratch. There are many things that Apple will have to clarify and Elon Musk will be pushing for that to happen.
