That Elon Musk being an eclectic and singular billionaire is well known. His utterances have allowed us to know his character and unpredictability but it seems that Tesla’s number one is always able to give something more. The owner of the car manufacturer specializing in electric cars and of Space X this time has definitely surpassed himself, even challenging himself Vladimir Putin in a martial arts hand-to-hand that puts Ukraine up for grabs. Musk has once again entrusted the thought of him to Twitter, with the twittering of the South African billionaire who quickly went viral.
Written in two languages, English and Cyrillic, Musk’s tweet has in fact addressed a direct challenge to the president of Russia: “I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to a one-on-one duel. The stake is Ukraine ”. A message that was also taken up by the vice-premier of Kiev, Mykhailo Fedorov who, again through Twitter, replied to the message of Tesla’s number one: “I’m sure Elon Musk can send Putin to Jupiter” wrote the 31-year-old Ukrainian politician. This is not the first time that Musk has addressed challenges of this kind as in the past he had already challenged Johnny Depp after the actor had called him “Mollusk”. In that case the challenge had not materialized but he who knows that in this case the irreverent tweet of the Tesla patron may not be an opportunity for reflection for Putin.
Tesla has already launched several initiatives following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, both in support of affected populations and employees from the country. In Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, for example, the brand has made the Supercharging columns free to recharge electric cars (even non-Tesla) while Musk offered Ukraine Starlink material to guarantee an Internet connection even in conflict zones. Finally, the Palo Alto company announced the payment of 3 months’ salary to Ukrainian employees who will enlist to defend their country in the conflict with Russia.
